fena fall09 for beetroot

as of september 1st 2009 and after an almost 3-year-long adventure i am very happy and excited to be back with my old friends at beetroot !

here’s a commercial spot for FENA involving some pretty complex c.g. hand & finger modeling, rigging and elaborate animation.

and, yes, for those in the know, the soundtrack is indeed making use of the free music-box samples for NI Kontakt given away over at kore-noisepages a few months ago

i remember beetroot..

it feels as it’s been a long time since then, but i was so glad and moved when i got the chance to re-visit me old lair at the Beetroot hq’s a couple of weeks ago..

a trip down in memory lane it is then, with a montage of the 9 vids (with the according sound design & music i’d done back then) created for the meta05 architectural exhibition back in the summer of 2005…

… good times!

E4

here’s 11 of the 12 xmas stings for E4 in uk created by NOMINT last november.
the theme was ‘christams critters’ and the project went absolutely nutts!
this work is featured in the current issue of STASH magazine, and, lo and behold, this is critically aclaimed work!
now. besides the …design of the “tumor character” (we were all big-time HouseMD fans!), i got the chance to put my SynthiAKS to good use as you can here the trapezoid and the three oscilators modulating & resonating throughout the collection!

if someone can explain to me how this disgusting bit turned into a character design..
nomint were always …erm.. offbeat !!
here’s further renderings of the organic tumor/slime-ball thang which i’d started developing last summer.. all done in 3ds max.

this one, was a pitch for the ill-fated E4RADIO right before the project was disappointingly abandoned by channel4 uk… such a shame..

LPth

the white tower of thessaloniki is, as of today, home to the city museum permanent exhibition. it consists of numerous interactive, moving and static exhibits and it aims to provide a human-centric, if not, aesthetic  context in order for the city’s multi-cultural & long history to unfold.

i had the opportunity (which ended up as complete torture) to design and develop the LPth website, as well as, all of the permanent interactive exhibits for the touchscreens. After all of the exhibits were completed i was also commisioned to design & develop the official cdROM which consists of a thourough interactive represantation of the entire venue and its contents.

i’d also handled most of the exhibition’s ambient and inline sound design.

along with the interactive content i had to work heavily on the motion graphics and c.g. aspects of the exhibition, as well. here are clips of some of the moving exhibits:

1. an historic representation of the city’s population changes in 3d infographics (first floor):

2. 3d representation of the white tower monument with sliced views (cdROM /ground floor):

3. 3d representation of an imagined view of the city’s seafront in the future (first floor):

4. edit of the original 3d video pitched at the commitee prior to the undertaking:

this project was managed and commisioned by altervision & mbp (2007-2008)

keene †

keene is now over & done with.. this, however, is most of the visual material i’d prepared for my former musical project.

the first video on the playlist is the proper promo for the track called “door on glass”. the audio track is heavily edited yet, it doesn’t so much differ from the orginal version on the the cd (btw, you can get the cd at the LOTUS record shop)

the second video is the promo i started preparing for a new and eventually unreleased track called “multitudes”. this was only seen and heard live during the reworks festival in 2007. almost all of the video is processed 9/11 material..

the third and fourth vids are the opening and the finale the above mentioned live gig. most of the visual were programmed in the processing environment and were audio-reactive during play!

i hope that this post captures a little bit of the bleak and gloomy spirit of those, thankfully,  long-gone days.

early beginnings..

this is one of my first ever attempts in mograph back the late 20th century!

this …piece, was used for my “density-of-state” cdROM while at the Westminster Uni in 1998! What followed in 1999 was the subsequent release of my “density of state : allied force” cd by the late POETA NEGRA !
